Tagged!

I got tagged by my good friend Dawn. Here’s the deal:

1) Choose the 4th folder where you store your pictures on your computer.

2) Select the 4th picture in the folder.

3) Explain the picture.

4) Tag 4 people to do the same. No cheating (cropping, editing, etc.)

This is a picture from February 2008. Sweet Lilli was not even two months old and was taking a nap at our house in her Grandpa Cornwell's arms. She was so tiny! I can't believe how big she has gotten. Since I have been a slacker I will post a photo from her birthday party just so you can see how big my baby girl is now.

Ok, now I am tagging Bobbi, Chris, Christine, and I know I am still missing one, but I gave you two photos :)

Lilli's future husband, part 1

Just wanted to say a quick congratulations to one of my closest friends, L. She gave birth to her son (and possibly my future son-in-law?!?) today. A is 8 lbs, 15 oz and 21 inches long and he is such a cutie! L did amazing, powering through contractions starting late Saturday afternoon, not sleeping all night, and delivering A at 2:25 this afternoon.

Here's hoping for a night of rest for the new mommy and daddy -- and a wonderful day tomorrow introducing their new bundle of joy to friends and family.

Love you guys!

(By the way, I say this is part one because we also know of a couple of other baby boys soon to be born, all of which we would heartily approve of! Updates to come as we meet those future suitors.)

another milestone

Well, Lilli turned 9 months old yesterday. I can't believe it, the year is passing by so fast... Lilli has been crawling and pulling up for weeks. But yesterday she let go while she was standing up and stood there all by herself without falling for about 10 seconds. It was awesome! Then tonight while she was taking her bottle, she actually held it and tilted it up so she could feed herself. Usually, she is fine to just let me hold the bottle and do all the work. She is growing up so quickly...

naps

Naps....right now that is a four letter cuss word in this house. It has definitely been...shall we say...challenging to get Lilli down for a nap lately. This afternoon she fell asleep in the car for less than 5 minutes even though I was in the backseat with her trying to keep her awake. When we got inside she woke up, I gave her a bottle, and tried to lay her right back down to sleep. Almost two hours later, she finally went down with the help of the swing and the repeat button on the cd player.

She use to be able to put herself to sleep, but as soon as she learned how to sit up on her own that all fell apart. We have been fighting a losing battle ever since then. I have finally gotten her to the point where I just lay her down in the crib and stand over her and rub her back and usually withing about 15 minutes she is asleep. But if I leave the room before she is asleep we have to start back over again. This is better though than trying to rock her to sleep. She is a real fighter when we do that.

Well I just got her down to bed for the night, so I am off to get some rest since our day wasn't very restful :)

Turning over a new leaf

OK, I promise I am really turning over a new leaf this time. It won't be another month until I post again.

We had a great time in San Antonio and Lilli traveled really well. She slept for most of the plane ride both ways which was really nice. Chris had to work most of the time we were there, so Lilli and I did some shopping and some swimming in the pool. It was nice to just get away for a while.

Last weekend we took Lilli to Gatlinburg and we had lots of fun there too. We took Lilli to the aquarium for the first time and she was really enthralled with all the fish and sea creatures. She did pretty good in the car too. But it was much easier at night than during the day. The puppies went with us too so we had the whole clan there. I had intended to do all of our Christmas shopping while we were there and I did none -- that's right, zero, zip, nada. Oh well, the best of intentions I guess.

This weekend we are going to start working on the house again. We are turning the office into the playroom so that there is a home for Lilli's toys. We sent the desk and bookcases to Chris and Dawn's when they had their adoption yard sale, so now we have to sort through all the books, cds, and dvds and get them up in the attic. Then we are repainting the room to a more kid-friendly color. I want to get a small table and chairs to put in there for when Lilli gets a little bit bigger so that is probably what I am on the hunt for now.

Work is going well, things are in a lot of transition, so it has been really busy. I miss Lilli during the day alot. But she is in good hands with my mom and Chris's grandmother.

Lilli is getting so big! She is crawling like crazy. Just tonight I was playing in the floor with her and she started crawling down the hall. By the time I could get up and go get her she had gotten all the way to our bedroom! She is eating really well. This week we started trying her on real food. She likes bananas, toast, and polenta.

We changed her bottles a few weeks ago. I finally bought into the whole BPA thing. So now we use the MAM bottle, which is actually really nice and it is the same brand as the pacifier she uses. We didn't have any problems transitioning her over.

I have also started regularly cloth diapering her on the weekends. I sold a bunch of the one size diapers I bought because they were just way too big for her. Now I use size medium all-in-ones. Basically they are just like a disposable except I throw them in the wash instead of the trash can.
OK , this post has gotten really long. I guess I am making up for lost time. Next time I will post some pics and maybe a video if I can figure out how.

Just catching up....

Life has been good in the Cornwell household. We are looking forward to taking a trip to San Antonio. This will be Lilli's first vacation and her first plane ride! It has been a little crazy trying to get ready for it. I never thought of all the stuff we have to take just for her: 40 diapers, 16 jars of baby food, juice, formula, clothes, bibs, spoons, cups, bottles, sunscreen, and the list goes on and on.... Even with all that to get ready I am excited to go somewhere I've never been and to take Lilli on her first adventure. Lilli has started crawling and pulling up, she is growing so fast! I can't believe she is already 7 months old. Chris is enjoying his new job and traveling quite a bit, but that should slow down through the end of the year. I have already started working on Lilli's 1st birthday party. I am thinking pink, brown, and owls... I found a really cute invitation that inspired me, so I think I am going to work from there. Well I guess that is all for now. Talk to you soon!

It's official...

She's 6 months old. (Well, ok, she has been for a week,I know...I know) Here are her beautiful 6 month photos. We went to the dr. this week and Lilli now weighs 17 lbs and 12 oz and is 26.75" long. What a big girl! She's been on solids for a couple of months but now she gets to eat three meals a day like a big girl!

Twice in one week!

It's a miracle, I actually manged to post twice in one week. Nothing new around here today though. Really looking forward to the weekend. Lilli is taking her 6 month photos this weekend, and will probably go swimming (well floating) for the first time. Hopefully she will start her swim lessons in July, who knows how that will go, but she has two really cute bathing suits! Speaking of which, I have got to go shopping for a new one. Well I guess that is all my random thoughts for the night. Talk to you guys soon!

I know, I know...

I am a total slacker! Well much has changed in the Cornwell house. Chris started a new job and Lilli is growing away. I can't believe she will be six months old next week. She is now sitting up on her own and is really trying to start crawling. She also started eating solids and boy does she love to eat! And even more excitement -- all my friends are having babies! Congrats Lindsey, Dawn, and Bobbi! I am so excited for you guys and can't wait to meet your new additions!

Other than that not much is going on. Work is pretty much the same. Church has been good lately and I finally started serving in the preschool ministry again. Lilli has gone to her class for two weeks now and she seems to like it. At least they haven't had to come get me, so that is a good sign.

We almost bought a new house, but it turned out to have some major problems, so now we are back to square one. I think we are going to look for some land and stay in this house for at least another year. When we were thinking about putting the house on the market we cleaned out a lot of stuff and that definitely made the house a little more comfortable. I had begun to think we had taken up every nook and cranny in the house.

Well I guess that is all for today. I promise I will try to update sooner!

It's been a while ...

So, I didn't realize how long it had been since I last posted until I logged on tonight. I am sorry for my lack of posting lately. With returning to work and trying to spend as much time with Lilli as possible when I am home, I haven't had much time for blogging. Things are going well around here. I have been back to work for over a month now. It is going OK. I wish I could be home with Lilli but for now I have to rely on our wonderful family to help take care of her. It is amazing though on the weekends to see how much she has changed. In the past few weeks Lilliana has learned how to hold her head up for long periods of time, how to sit up in her bumbo, how to sleep through the night (yeah!), how to make a few sounds, how to roll over from her stomach to her back, and now we see a smile every time we play together. She gets cuter with each passing day! Here are a few pics for your enjoyment and I promise I will try not to wait so long to blog again.

Our Little Overacheiver

Lilli seems to think that 6 weeks old is a great time to start holding the bottle on her own. Mom thinks this might be a little early.....

More pics!

My inlaws stopped by today and while they were here I got all the pics of Lilli off of their camera. Here are a few of my favorites.

One month already!

Well, yesterday Lilliana turned a month old. I can't believe it, time sure is flying by. Her day was filled with adventure, including her first trip to Target. Mom will make a shopper out of her yet :) Here are a few pics (do you think her Daddy loves her?)

Isn't she adorable?

Okay, I know I am partial but here are some of her cutest pics of the week. Including her first bath (well it was more like her third, but hey who's counting?).
